Animal Shelter Assistance Program of Santa Barbara (ASAP Cats)

Mission

The mission of the Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP) is to save the lives of cats in Santa Barbara County by providing shelter, veterinary care, behavioral support, adoption and foster services, education and community outreach. In support of the primary goals stated above, ASAP also seeks to: - Maximize community involvement through volunteerism and outreach; - Reduce the population of stray, homeless, and feral cats through adoption, spay/neuter and Trap-Neuter-Return programs, redemption, foster care, and educational programs; and - Form strong partnerships with Santa Barbara County Animal Services and other animal welfare groups to promote animal welfare and related causes.

Vision

A Santa Barbara County where every cat—regardless of age, health, or circumstance—has access to compassionate care, a safe environment, and the chance to thrive in a loving home or well-managed community.

Goals

1.Expand access to ASAP Cats’ lifesaving programs—including veterinary care, foster, adoption, and community cat services—across Santa Barbara County. Increase capacity through enhanced medical resources, mobile spay/neuter services, and volunteer engagement to serve more cats and communities in need
2.Strengthen core programs—veterinary care, adoption, foster, and community cat services—while phasing out activities that do not directly advance our mission.
