Mission

The Unity Shoppe provides the basic necessities of life while encouraging self-sufficiency and independent living during periodic times of crisis for low-income families, children, the elderly, and those affected by fire, flood and disaster. We provide a "Central Distribution Facility" for the use of all non-profit agencies, social service organizations, churches, schools and hospitals. Over 300 different service groups are now referring their low-income clients to this facility during times of crisis.<br>During the pandemic, Unity has focused on emergency food distribution for the newly unemployed and those struggling with the impacts of Covid-19. We initiated food delivery for seniors, making nearly 5,000 deliveries in 2020. Having learned more about how the shut-ins, disabled, immunocompromised and seniors with limited transportation options need additional help, Unity is attempting to make food deliver a new element of service. We have managed to still honor choice and preference.
