Vision

The SBCFSC envisions a natural environment that is more fire resilient; buildings and infrastructure that are more fire resistant; and a community that is more aware of and responsive to the benefits and threats of wildland fire - all achieved through local, state, federal, tribal and private partnerships.

Goals

1. 1.Since its founding, the Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council has focused on high fire risk areas along the south coast, from Carpinteria to Hollister Ranch. However, other areas still face fire risk and would benefit from our programs. We’re expanding our reach to North County by securing additional funding and including North County residents on our Board.
2. 2.The Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council is committed to developing new educational programs targeting diverse community demographics. Ensuring all residents understand their wildfire risks and preparedness is crucial. With various at-risk populations across the county, we aim to provide tailored education to empower everyone to take action before the next wildfire.
3. 3.We plan to invest in the capacity of our organization by strengthening our infrastructure and expanding staff expertise. This will enable us to better serve the community and effectively address the growing wildfire risks in Santa Barbara County. By building a more robust organization, we can increase our outreach, improve program delivery, and ensure long-term sustainability.
