Positive Coaching Alliance

Mission

Positive Coaching Alliance's (PCA) mission is to change the culture of youth sports so that every child, regardless of social or economic circumstance, has access to a positive youth sports experience. As a catalyst for a positive youth sports culture, PCA provides research-based training and resources for coaches, parents, athletes, and leaders to ensure a positive youth development experience for ALL kids, in all communities across the U.S., through sports.

Vision

Youth sports done right provides a comprehensive experience that integrates the thrill of competition and physical fitness with the development of well-rounded, confident, and socially adept individuals. This combination lays a robust foundation for lifelong success and well-being.

Goals

1.Increase equitable access to youth sports by forging alliances with leaders in under-resourced communities to shape sports equity agendas tailored to the strengths of local neighborhoods.
2.Develop a positive youth sports culture (PYSC) in school districts, youth sports organizations (YSOs), community organizations, and national governing bodies/organizations, where the focus is providing a positive, equitable, and accessible sports experience for all kids participating.
3.Training, recruiting, and supporting coaches to provide young people with positive youth sports experiences that inspire them to achieve their potential despite the increased challenges faced by youth today.
