Vision

Heal the Ocean envisions healthy oceans for the long-term benefit of people and all life on Earth. The organization is focused on Santa Barbara County, but its methods are now serving as a model for other coastal communities across the country, fostering oceanic health and sustainability.

Goals

1. 1.Halt sources of pollution from entering our ocean by improving wastewater infrastructure, capping leaking oil wells, maintaining Styrofoam recycling programs, and other programs.
2. 2.Raise awareness about local ocean pollution by sharing information through monthly e-letters, annual newsletters, advertisements in local newspapers, and social media platforms.
3. 3.Provide access to tools such as interactive maps on homeless encampments, sea level rise, oil wellheads, as well as collaborative studies on groundwater, watersheds, ocean floor geology, and more.
