EcoCenter, Inc.
Mission
Creative solutions for thriving on planet Earth. Located on a historic agricultural property surrounded by urban sprawl, The Ecology Center’s 28-acre Regenerative Organic Certified farm and education center serves as a hub for Southern California’s ecological movement. We believe everyone should have access to the tools, knowledge, and skills that promote healthy communities. We have a culture that gives more than it takes—ideals that are demonstrated daily through the Center’s onsite and outreach programs. Today, we are a destination where people from across the region come to plant seeds, tend the garden, create with their hands, and share a meal in celebration.
Vision
Southern California was once the nation’s bread and fruit basket, a region brimming with life-giving farmland. Today, The Ecology Center stands as one of the last organic farms in the area—a rare and critical opportunity to serve as a model for transformation. Using this land and our expertise in instructional and experiential design, we aim to inspire entrepreneurs, organizations, and individuals to create similar projects that can shift culture locally and globally. In just over a decade, The Ecology Center has transformed a barren, overworked 28-acre industrial farm into a thriving hub of ecological food and culture. Guided by nature’s wisdom and empowered by the incredible support of our community, we’ve created a dynamic model for living in harmony with the earth. This next chapter centers on expanding our offering and planting seeds of change throughout the bioregion. Together we will cultivate an abundant future.
Goals
- 1.Model the Change We model humans working in harmony with nature and one another, offering programs and enterprises that invite new pathways to conscious consumption and community engagement. Over the next 5 Years 1 Launch our Peace Dome 2 Expand R&D on our Regenerative Organic Farm. 3 Grow our community programming to inspire behavior change.
- 2.Mentor the Next Generation Our greatest aspiration is to inspire and mentor future leaders who embody ecological values and creative solutions. OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS: 1 Develop transformational ecological programming for children and youth. 2 Share our learnings through community forums and publications. 3 Build a movement to inspire ecological transformation.
- 3.Nourish the Community Through regenerative practices, community engagement, and education, we’re building a resilient and ecological food future for our bioregion. OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS: 1 Expand production of Regenerative Organic Certified ingredients. 2 Train and mentor the next generation of farmers. 3 Replicate our model beyond our 28-acre ecosystem.
