The 300-400% increase in client need caused our operations to ramp up to its ultimate maximum capacity in order to meet this need and not allow anyone in our community to go hungry. More food, more gas, more equipment and more labor was required to facilitate the intake and distribution of the increased relief supplies.


How COVID-19 impacted the organization's delivery of programs:

As we depend on 60 agency partners to act as the frontline in food distribution, their methods to distribute changed in order to protect against COVID, volunteers, and staffing were impacted by sickness and quarantine, and lack of support caused some entities to cease distributions.


How this organization adapted to changing conditions caused by COVID-19:

Our operations doubled in capacity, allowed for direct delivery, and supported the uptick in need with any foods we could feasibly acquire.


Innovations the organization intends to continue permanently after the pandemic:

We recommend pre-bagged, drive-thru food distribution practices as well as limited contact through appointments.
