1.One of our major goals is to secure funding and offer our expertise in programming for a continuation of our previous air purifiers in schools programs. The 30,000 HEPA purifiers we placed in schools and early education centers are now in need of continued funding for replacement filters. Ensuring Utah’s youth has a healthy, safe learning environment is a top priority and goal for UPHE.
2.UPHE is looking to promote air quality education and monitoring in Utah schools. We aim to place indoor and outdoor air monitors in Utah school to empower students to take actions to protect their short and long term health.
3.Reducing upstream diversions from Great Salt Lake will raise levels to cover exposed lakebed creating dust. We aim to continue our work reviewing studies and translating the data and associated importance to the legislature and the public.
