Mission

The mission of The Blackfoot Challenge is to coordinate efforts that will conserve and enhance the natural resources and rural way of life in the Blackfoot Watershed for present and future generations.

Vision

Since its inception in 1993, the Blackfoot Challenge has served as a participatory, community-based collaborative focused on holistic, “ridgetop to ridgetop” solutions to diverse natural resource stewardship needs and priorities. The organization's vision is to facilitate effective conservation partnerships that maintain a vibrant, resilient natural environment and thriving rural communities.

Goals

1.Sustain and expand our proven civil process, nurturing impactful public-private partnerships and advancing our model of community-based conservation to build durable grass-roots outcomes.
2.Continue implementation of holistic conservation practices for resilient natural resources from ridgetop to ridgetop through each of our core programs: Water, Forestry, Land Stewardship, Education, and Wildlife.
3.Expand staff's technical expertise ad integrate increasing levels of science into community decision-making and long-term watershed conservation planning.
