Vision

WVE envisions a world free from the impacts of toxic chemicals, one where our planet and communities are thriving, one where our gender, race, sexuality, zip code, income level or job does not determine our health outcomes. A world where workers are treated with dignity from our paychecks to our working conditions. In this world, every point in the cycle of production and consumption – from extraction, to processing, to use, to disposal – contributes not just to a less toxic world, but to a thriving world.

Goals

1. 1.Ensure the people who are most vulnerable (ie. TGNC, LGBTQ+, folx of the global majority) are prioritized in policy decisions related to toxic chemical exposure and developed as strong new leaders in the movement through intersectional and diverse movement building across areas such as environmental health, gender justice/reproductive health, climate justice, workers’ rights, and human rights.
2. 2.Promote sound scientific research that addresses the unique impacts toxic chemical exposure has on the health of everyone, with the awareness that members of the global majority are at greatest risk.
3. 3.Urge corporations to be transparent about the chemicals they use in their products, to remove harmful chemicals and to replace them with safer alternatives.
