Vision

In California, the hope is for Sickle Cell Warriors to go to the ER and be received by HCPs that are knowledgeable about SCD - by the expression of shorter wait times, given adequate and appropriate pain medication, to be heard, and for Warriors to be believed. Our hope is that through our STAC (Sickle Cell Trait Awareness Campaign) that middle school, high school, and college-aged students will know their trait status to be able to make informed decisions regarding family planning.

Goals

1. 1.Our STAC Initiative is a five-year public health campaign for people living in CA to know their sickle cell trait status. Our goal is to provide education and awareness. We want to provide education about Sickle Cell Trait (SCT) for those affected by it and give resources that will do just that. For ore information go to stac-california.org.
2. 2.Since the year 2000, we have been dedicated to writing one grant a month for the past 25 years. We want to expand our financial sustainability by adding various fundraising opportunities.
