Policy Advocacy
Freedom Network USA is a coalition of 80 member organizations all working together to address trafficking. Our staff and members attend meetings with federal agencies to provide input and recommendations. We meet regularly with legislators to discuss potential and pending legislation. We have also collaborated with other organizations to address the root causes of trafficking including abuse, poverty, and discrimination. We host an annual conference to bring together different stakeholders in the field to discuss best practices for serving survivors.
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2020, Freedom Network USA (FNUSA) moved to being a fully remote organization. We gave our staff more flexibility to take care of themselves and their families with expanded leave. We invested in new tools to train the field and brought people together to wrestle with new challenges. We also demanded more of ourselves and our community in the quest for racial justice. Despite everything, 2020 was a year of growth and opportunity for FNUSA. We met the needs of survivors in ways that made sense to them and fit into their lives. Our staff grew two-fold as we welcomed 14 new members into the network.
