Yellow Dog Community and Conservation Foundation

Mission

The Yellow Dog Community and Conservation Foundation works to enhance communities, build partnerships and support conservation in places where great fishing is found. We achieve this by providing targeted grants to directly support priority conservation needs, vital community projects, and educational efforts in international angling designations. The Foundation also provides support for certain events and builds partnerships to leverage funding for specific projects and impact.

Vision

Fishing communities that are resilient and self sustaining, able to determine their own outcomes and are places where individuals and families thrive and lead fulfilling and inspiring lives through shared experiences.

Goals

1.Collaborate with a wide array of stakeholders in Belize to add lasting and permanent protection under law to fragile shallow water environments that provide habitat for gamefish, eliminating the loopholes that currently exist that allow developers to obtain permits to build over the water structures in these ecosystems.
2.Collaborate with the entire community of Punta Allen, Mexico, on the creation of an annual fundraising event that includes all of the fishing lodges in the area. The goal is to come together as a community and raise funds to support ongoing and new projects to improve the quality of life for residents.
3.Increase our outreach to demographics that can help us spread our mission. Do this by engaging with other organizations with complimentary missions and goals, and learn how they are achieving their success.
