Vision

The Sanders Institute convenes leading professionals from various fields from across the country and around the world to address important issues. The purpose of these Gatherings is to research innovative solutions, develop actionable steps & shape a transformational vision for the future. Our intent is to support a vital democracy by breaking out of the silos that too often separate policymakers, allowing them to learn from each other through civil discourse, to explore replicable successes and develop ongoing networks to effect real-world change.

Goals

1. 1.Convene large & small Gatherings of leading professionals from a full spectrum of experience & expertise, both in the US & internationally, to focus on housing, health care, climate change and education. Record and widely distribute these Gatherings with the desired results to garner public support, coverage in the press, and effective action in public policy.
2. 2.Expand technological and communication capacity to digitize, primary source material (articles, videos, photographs, legislation, stories) of the accumulated works of Bernie Sanders to publish on a newly-designed web framework. Sanders' methods & successes will provide important information to students, elected officials & others trying to effect change.
3. 3.Research other countries' fed/state/local policies on housing, health care, climate change or education. Ex: Sweden senior housing projects - independent, assisted living & nursing home care; manufactured homes. Draft city planning, permitting & community development proposals. Ex: apprenticeship programs, health care coverage/administration, climate resilience.
