Vision

We believe that our vision is bigger than our work, but our mission starts with math. The Calculus Project aims to help underserved students open the doors of opportunity. We are evidence-based and research-led, and the data shows that a student’s mastery of mathematics is vital for their futures – both personally and professionally. We work with school districts, program chairs, and industry partners to create a comprehensive community of support for students as they seek to understand and practice math.

Goals

1. 1.TCP combines summer math pre-teaching, Academic Center tutoring, AP supports, and exposure to STEM professionals who reflect students’ communities. Together, these components expand access to and success in advanced math, prepare students for college, and create pathways to STEM careers for low-income and historically underrepresented students.
2. 2.The Calculus Project has grown rapidly, reaching more districts and students through year-round programming and our summer Leadership Academy. In 2027, we will expand to two new regions of New England and two new college campuses, continuing to replicate our proven model and create pathways to advanced math and STEM success.
3. 3.TCP’s goal is to scale its proven model while building long-term sustainability in partner districts. We strengthen district ownership, blend district and philanthropic funding, leverage university and employer partnerships, and use data for continuous improvement—ensuring impact can grow and continue beyond any single grant.
