Teenagers in the Greater Fredericksburg Region of Virginia (Caroline County, Fredericksburg City, King George County, Spotsylvania County, and Stafford County).

How has asking for feedback from the people you serve changed your relationship with them or shifted power - over decisions, resources, rules or in other ways - to them?
Teenagers often feel unheard. TEN gives the teens a platform on which to speak and increase their communication skills. In requesting their feedback, they are given power to help set policy and create programs to further help themselves, their community, and their peers.
What challenges does your organization face in collecting feedback from the people you serve?
We don't have any major challenges to collecting feedback
Briefly describe a recent change that your organization made in response to feedback from the people you serve.
Prior to COVID, we were meeting in person with teens to prepare for a diversity summit. During these meetings, the teens expressed a desire to continue coming together to discuss topics important to them, but without adults present so more teens would feel comfortable expressing themselves. We began developing the Safe Zone to address this feedback. Safe Zone was conducted and monitored by appointed TEN Ambassadors who were specifically trained to run these sessions. When COVID hit, the need for this connection and outlet became even higher and we established a permanent online Safe Zone program. Those who had requested this were pleased with our response.
