Vision

All people have equitable access to, feel welcome in, and advocate for outdoor spaces. We envision a society that recognizes and addresses the historical and ongoing systemic barriers that have prevented under-resourced communities from fully experiencing the benefits of nature. We strive for a world where outdoor recreation and conservation efforts are inclusive and reflect the diverse needs, perspectives, and contributions of all people.

Goals

1. 1.Increased access to nature: Prioritizing equity yields opportunities for individuals who may not otherwise have access to nature. This can help to bridge the nature gap and improve physical and mental health outcomes. Social and emotional development: Providing opportunities for social and emotional development, including increased self-esteem, confidence, and leadership skills.
2. 2.We aim to abate systemic racism and discrimination in outdoor spaces, allowing people of all backgrounds and cultures to enjoy the outdoors without fear. Overall, increasing equity in outdoor and environmental learning can have a wide range of positive impacts.
3. 3.Improved access to outdoor experiences and environmental learning Increase knowledge of the African American Experience at Lincoln Hills. Increase in awareness of and interest in environmental/nature based academic and career opportunities and pathways.
