African Middle Eastern Leadership Project

Mission

THE AFRICAN MIDDLE EASTERN LEADERSHIP PROJECT'S MISSION IS TO MOBILIZE, EMPOWER, AND UNITE YOUNG LEADERS AND ACTIVISTS FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA TO BUILD RESILIENT, INCLUSIVE SOCIETIES THAT ARE FREE FROM DISCRIMINATION, PERSECUTION, AND VIOLENT COERCION, AND TO ADVOCATE SUPPORTING POLICIES.

Vision

By training and empowering young civil society activists from the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, while also connecting them to peers, mentors and decision-makers worldwide, they can lead the way to increases in human rights, pluralism, peace, democracy and well-governed, resilient societies; and the signals, actions and policies affecting these realms can be improved by sharing the experiences and insights of MEA activists with decision makers in power centers across the Global North and beyond.

Goals

1.Replicate and scale-up successful programs such as the AMEL Institute, which provides training to young changemakers from all over the Middle East and Africa.
2.Continue providing issue education and subject matter expertise to the international community on Red Sea security, peace, democracy, human rights and youth empowerment.
3.Continue improving the organization's financial and management capacities to accommodate continued growth.
