Vision

A world where targeted innovation stops plastic pollution at its source—deploying Interceptors in 30 key cities to eliminate up to one-third of river-borne plastic and accelerate a 90 percent reduction in global ocean plastic pollution.

Goals

1. 1.The Ocean Cleanup has focused on developing and building technologies with two strategic aims: to extract floating plastic pollution from the ocean and to intercept ocean-bound plastic from rivers. The Ocean Cleanup will transition from single river deployments to citywide solutions, tackling the main plastic emitting waterways within each selected city.
2. 2.We are actively building the organizational capacity required to deliver our 30 Cities plan—expanding teams across operations, supply chain, management, regional partnerships, and project delivery, while strengthening our funding base. These investments ensure we have the people, systems, and resources in place to scale globally with speed, consistency, and impact.
3. 3.We develop new programs by responding to evolving needs within the communities and constituencies we serve, using data, partnerships, and continuous learning to guide our approach. We are building programs in partnership with local, regional, and national authorities to ensure deployments are responsible, safe, and aligned with public priorities.
