Aginno Institute

Mission

AgInno Institute is focused on making real differences in the lives of indigenous families in Guatemala via improved and more healthy living conditions, access to water and health care, education, improved agriculture techniques, and equipping them to provide food and income for themselves and their families. We attempt to develop approaches to help families in a way that enhances dignity and which may be reapplied to others. We "build bridges" between local Guatemalan families/communities with universities, churches and other ministries, NGOs, and government agencies to meet their needs with best proven approaches and new sustainable agriculture innovations. A key focus is the definition of culturally-relevant solutions to maximize adoption of success models.

2.We hope to provide access to a consistent, healthy water supply for all communities in the area which lack water. This may include a functioning well, water supply tanks, water lines, and/or rain-catchment systems, depending on the community.
3.We plan to begin reapplication of our agriculture research to poor families in the surrounding villages. An early priority is to provide aquaponics systems to families committed to learning and managing these systems to provide tilapia and food crops for the use of the family and/or for sale as an income source.
