Vision

The vision for Stay-Focused is to create a unique leadership development organization for teens with disabilities that enhances their quality of life and provides the opportunity for continued growth. SCUBA diving offers teens and young adults with disabilities an unparalleled opportunity to experience freedom from their disability, gain confidence, and realize their ability to set higher goals. Friendships formed during the program last a lifetime, and Stay-Focused alumni will always be involved in guiding, and, eventually running, the organization. Learning more about the beneficial aspects of SCUBA diving for persons with disabilities and assisting in developing appropriate guidelines is a priority. Ideally, Stay-Focused will attain recognition as the most highly-regarded learning organization for teens and young adults with disabilities.

Goals

1. 1.Stay-Focused is committed to leadership development and financial sustainability and has a succession plan in place to ensure the organization is managed professionally and prepared for leadership transitions when necessary. Stay Focused undertakes new initiatives each year to raise funds for its programs and created an endowment for the organization in 2022.
2. 2.In 2026, Stay-Focused expanded its programs by one third, enabling 16 teens with disabilities to achieve their PADI SCUBA Diver certification. Stay-Focused consistently works individuals who run adaptive sports programs for teens with disabilities across the US to expand its network and source participants for its programs.
3. 3.For 23 years, Stay-Focused has remained focused on offering life-changing experiences to teens with physical disabilities. To date, 168 teens with disabilities have achieved their PADI SCUBA Diver certification. Stay-Focused also offers Discover SCUBA experiences to teens with disabilities across the US and has avoided mission creep into unrelated activities.
