Vision

Basin Dream Center's vision is that all young people who have been exploited, homeless, or aged out of foster care are empowered to live meaningful, self-sufficient adult lives.

Goals

1. 1.With the help of a local foundation, Basin Dream Center has employed the services of a qualified consultant to analyze our existing policies, procedures, capacity, structure and goals. We identified three areas of growth that we wanted to focus on and have created a 2028 Strategic Plan based on those. We have also created and began implementing a detailed Development Plan.
2. 2.Our original facility has limited on space and our residents are sharing bedrooms and bathrooms. In order to provide our residents a more comfortable environment, we began looking for a new location in Q3 of 2023. Allowing our residents more space gives them a greater opportunity to heal and claim their independence, while still learning the important skills of coexisting and communicating.
3. 3.We are actively working on establishing the Permian Basin's first public emergency youth shelter. This shelter will give youth and young adults an immediate shelter where they can get hot food, safe sleeping quarters, access to laundry facilities and hygiene services. This would keep vulnerable young people off of the streets and out of adult shelters where they can be exploited or harmed.
