Vision

Less than 1% of veterans need a medical assistance service dog, but almost all can benefit from having a well-trained dog in their lives and a community that still values their service. Sierra Delta works to ensure that every veteran has access to dog training resources as a genuine and tangible "Thank You for Your Service."

Goals

1. 1.Since 2017, Sierra Delta has issued an average of 100 dog training grants. Its goal in 2025 is to issue 300 dog training grants to 300 veterans, its goal in 2026 is 1500, and its goal in 2027 is 5000. The ultimate goal is to issue 10,000 dog training grants to 10,000 veterans annually by 2030.
2. 2.The Life Force Program provides approved veterans with the training and resources needed to be effective peer-to-peer mentors and coaches to their fellow veterans in developing a Life Buddy Team with their dog and networking within the greater Sierra Delta community. This program will allow Sierra Delta to scale and provide ways for veterans to continue to serve.
3. 3.Sierra Delta is hyper-focused on delivering reasonable and sustainable resources to as many veterans as possible, within the confines of training with a professional trainer to develop a Life Buddy dog best suited for the individual needs and lifestyle, and in developing an engaged community that values all of our veterans and all the dogs in our lives.
