Mission
At Sky Sanctuary, we exist to rescue, rehabilitate, and relentlessly advocate for the street dogs who have been forgotten—those with the most urgent medical needs, the deepest emotional wounds, and the slimmest chances of survival. We specialize in stepping in where others walk away. As a boots-on-the-ground 501c3 nonprofit, we work directly in the streets of our community, humanely capturing animals who are sick, injured, and in desperate need of care. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive, specialized treatment—from complex surgeries to long-term rehabilitation. We don’t shy away from the hard cases—we seek them out. But healing goes beyond the physical. We partner with a trusted team of trainers to restore each dog’s sense of safety, build their confidence, and give them the tools they need to thrive in a home. We believe every dog deserves peace, love, and the chance to be part of a family. Unlike traditional rescues, we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty. We are driven by courage, compassion, and a deep belief that these animals matter. Every life we touch is made possible through the generosity of our supporters—we are entirely funded by public donations, primarily through social media. Our mission is clear and unwavering: to save the street dogs no one else will. What “Sanctuary” Means to Us: At Sky Sanctuary, the word sanctuary is more than just a place—it’s a promise. It represents peace, safety, and the unwavering commitment we make to every animal we bring into our care. When an animal enters our organization, we don’t just offer a temporary shelter—we offer a lifetime of advocacy, high-quality medical treatment, and compassionate care, no matter how long they’re with us. While we believe deeply in lifelong support, we also believe every animal deserves the love and stability of a family. That’s why, for those who cannot be adopted due to ongoing medical or behavioral needs, we place them in sanctuary foster homes—trusted families who offer permanent love and security while we remain responsible for their medical, financial, and behavioral support. For animals who are ready for a fresh start, we proudly offer them for adoption. Every adoption makes space for the next animal in need—and with your support, we can continue to save lives. Sky Sanctuary is funded solely through public support. Your donations, your time, and your decision to adopt make this work possible.

Sky Sanctuary Rescue cannot be rated because Charity Navigator has not received the public data required to create a star rating.
To receive a star rating, a charity must be a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity. Private foundations, consolidated subsidiaries, and organizations with revoked or inactive IRS status are not eligible for a rating.
Eligible charities must also meet the following criteria:
- Charity Navigator must directly receive at least three electronically filed IRS Form 990s within the past six years (these do not need to be consecutive).
- At least two of the four most recent filings must be the standard Form 990, and the most recent filing cannot be a Form 990-PF.
- Report total functional expenses greater than zero, with program expenses not exceeding total expenses.
- Have no Charity Navigator "Giving Not Recommended" alert.
A nonprofit may be listed but not rated if it does not yet meet Form 990 filing requirements, is newly registered, files only Form 990-EZ or 990-N, or is otherwise ineligible for a star rating.
