Mission

Our Keep Music Alive mission is to help more children (and adults) reap the educational, therapeutic and social benefits of playing music. Our programs include After-School Music Lessons for underserved students, Teach Music Week (March), Kids Music Day (October) and year-round Musical Instrument Petting Zoo events at schools, libraries and community festivals (120 events in 2024). Our goal for everything we do is to inspire the next generation of music makers, because of the many benefits we know they will receive as a results. We're not trying to help every child become a professional musician. We simply want to give every child the best chance of success no matter what career path they choose later in life. Learning to play music during their developmental years is the magic that will help make that happen.
