Booksmiles

Mission

We give new life to books and distribute them to promote childhood literacy, inspire readers, support educators, and strengthen communities.

Vision

We will create a future where every child has access to books - fostering a love of reading, igniting imagination, transforming communities, and empowering generations through literacy.

Goals

1.By the fall of 2016, we will have moved into a 14,000 warehouse where we will intake, process, and distribute 3,000,000 to 4,000,000 books each year. This will help open our pool of volunteers from a 24 daily maximum daily to 75 maximum daily.
2.In our new space, we will have the space to triple our Daycare Delivery output to over 1 million books each year. We will purchase another transit van and get it outfitted to allow kids in underserved schools to board it so that they can take what they wish.
3.From this location, we will quickly evolve into a national model for how to scale a book bank that relies on trading gently used adult books for kids books.
