We are a very young organization based in Academia with partners throughout the business world. The current CEO has had a significant amount of formal and informal leadership training, but our organization is fully run by volunteers (including the CEO), we simply don't have the resources to do this, nor do we feel it reasonable to ask volunteers to do more than they are already doing without compensation.

Our organization was unable to travel to Kenya to continue building the relationships we had just begun to nurture due to COVID. So instead of traveling, we stay in regular contact via WhatsApp and email with our partner organization in Kenya. We have also used the time to create new opportunities to deliver education through our Msomi in the Kijiji initiative, which we have enough funding to implement and will be the focus of our efforts during our upcoming visit. We are also considering other ways to reach our end goal of opening and maintaining a brick and mortar school.
