Union Mayombe was established in California in June 2018 as a religious organization dedicated to providing critical assistance to families in need, clothing and feeding the homeless, and partnering with Toys for Tots for Christmas toy distribution. At Union Mayombe, our mission statement, Unity is Strength, represents the philosophical framework that guides our organizational purpose. The full articulation of our mission is Motivated by love, we bring hope to life, especially for those most in need. Some individuals may express concerns that a mission statement grounded in faith could hinder our ability to attract those outside of that faith. However, our experience has shown that remaining faithful to our organizational identity has attracted individuals who share our values and aspire to create positive change, regardless of their faith background. We are an organization deeply rooted in spiritual and social teachings, yet we are committed to serving all individuals, regardless of gender, faith, background, or religion. Our core objective is to provide support to those who need it most. When we say we live our mission to be a force for unity, we conduct a thorough examination of the diverse needs of the individuals we serve and strive to be responsive through flexible scheduling, spiritual growth, and educational support, with the goal of encouraging personal growth and development.
