TDRF's leadership has carried out strategic planning to set goals for the year. One of the goals is to improve our relation and engagement with our supporters and donors. We have been leveraging social media to stay engaged with our constituents. We also have been holding online fundraising activities as well as organizing online forums.
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
As a result of the war on Tigray that began on November 4, 2020, the humanitarian needs of the people of Tigray have been on a catastrophic level. Before June of 2021, our organization that was founded in 2018 had been in decline. However, as a result of the war, the need for our work to support the people of Tigray was apparent. In order to revitalize the organization, the founders decided to expand the number of Board of Directors and put out a public call to invite individuals to join the board. As a result, the Board of Directors' number was increased to 15. From the Board of Directors, 7 people were voted into the Executive leadership. As part of organizational capacity building, the Executive Leadership was tasked with carrying out strategic planning. As part of the planning, the team reviewed the organization's mission, vision, and core values. The team also sought public feedback via a survey to help improve internal processes.
