Vision

All students learn from one, ideally many, Black male teachers during their PreK-12 experience, leading to improved academic and life outcomes.

Goals

1. 1.Launching programs between 2020-2024, we have codified our program and partnership model and have seen early success. With these foundational pieces in place, we are in a position to offer greater access to our offerings, so that more Black males can experience the identity-centered development that will help introduce and sustain them in the teaching profession.
2. 2.While all of our pilot programs have had successful outcomes, in the current model, not all are sustainable. We are focusing on the ones that yield the best outcomes at the lowest cost. Meanwhile, we will continue to monitor the success of the non-core programs, so that we can develop strategies to provide access to those programs in future iterations.
3. 3.The impact that we make through direct programming requires deep and consistent mindset shifts, which is challenging and time-consuming. We recognize that the best way to make a transformative impact is to prove the model with our key partners and participants, and disseminate our findings for others to borrow best practices to support current and aspiring Black male teachers.
