Goal One: ICC was formed in 2017 and in 2018 obtained a 501(c)(3) status. We have helped approx 1.500 individuals. With about 22 part time employees. We need to invest on ICC 2.0 to expand on reach and impact.

Goal Two: California regional center system services approx. 380,000 individuals, 43% are Latino the largest served. Goal is to have the Integradora outreach model in all 21 regional center catchment areas.

We are continuously conducting internal trainings to improve our outreach Integradora model. Just recently we conducted a train led by Jim Schultz, Founder and Executive Director of the Democracy Center. The training was on The Art of Advocacy Strategy. On the average yearly, we conduct approximately 12 internal trainings for our staff centered around Advocacy, Navigation of systems of support, Disparities, Barriers and Road Blocks within the systems of support and Leadership. Recently we collaborated with Disability Voices United on a training series for Emerging Leaders. There were approx. 140 participants and ICC supported through Presentations, Moderators and Mentors.

What are this organization’s external mobilizaton efforts?
By working and communicating closely with our community and as Parents and Self-Advocates we take pride in our Strategic Partnerships. We are working on numerous fronts with statewide organizations like: Disability Voices United, Disability Rights California and the State Council on Developmental Disabilities. The Collective Impact is in numerous forms from distribution of PPE, implementation of programs like Project Home bound that provided COVID vaccines for individuals who were not able to leave their homes to the introduction of Legislation on the Fair Hearing Process. We all created unique collaboration like in project RADD with Stanford Law School students who supported our Integradora outreach effort by joining and observing Fair Hearings. Our efforts are centered around community building and engagement. We raise awareness by word of mouth and on social media: Facebook, YouTube etc. State level advocacy is participation in numerous committees and Task Forces.

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Last year was an extremely challenging year for our outreach efforts due to the COVID Pandemic. Our targeted demographic was at the highest level of incident rate based on compromised health and most Latino families were essential workers. We introduced ICC Plan C which was designed to embrace and support our community during these hard times. In addition through a collaboration with the Department of Developmental Services and State Council of Developmental Services the ICC conducted numerous PPE distribution events as well as created Project Home Bound in collaboration with North Los Angeles County Regional Center and LACSD in bringing COVID vaccines to Special needs families who were homebound.
