Mission

Washington Innocence Project (WashIP) works to free innocent Washington State prisoners, improve our criminal legal system through education and advocacy, and support the wrongly convicted in Washington State as they rebuild their lives in freedom.

Goals

1.Engage freed and exonerated individuals to develop a meaningful post-release support program grounded in evidence-based best practices and a referral-based model appropriate for a small legal services organization.
2.Launch capital campaign to build a home for our organization that will serve as office space, community education/gathering space, and individual transitional or respite housing units for our freed and exonerated clients.
3.Leverage our expertise in the community to offer paid Continuing Legal Education programs to generate income and establish relationships that could grow into effective pro bono relationships.
