Mission

The Harambee Birth and Family Center HBFC is an organization which provides community-based culturally sensitive comprehensive and coordinated health and educational services to serve promote and support healthy independent families and individuals. Our mission is to provide an alternative safe and community based option for reproductive health and family care that fosters dignity respect and community power building. We work through a reproductive justice praxis to fight back against racist systems policies and practices in respect to BIPOC birthing people and their families. We envision a world where birthing families particularly black birthing families find themselves in a state of thriving and not merely surviving.
