We were just launching fundraising initiatives in our new nonprofit when the pandemic hit. COVID impacted everything we had planned to do. But we were able to pivot and continue our mission and build for the future.
Our initial outreach approach to award financial grants was "in-person" COVID made that impossible. We were able to adopt ZOOM and were able to make this a very impactful method.
We increased our outreach to supporters via social media, and increased out reach to potential grant recipients. We were able to adopt ZOOM and were able to make this a very impactful method with both people who need our help, and people who will be able to help us.
Using ZOOM to award our financial gifts to people struggling will be our method going forward. As well as scheduling small, independently run fundraising events virtually as a way to empower our supporters to be involved and involve people in all of our geographic support areas.
