Mission

The Eddie Adams Workshop has helped launch the careers of thousands of photographers. Our tuition-free program provides unique mentorship opportunities, often out of reach for photographers without institutional support and professional connections. The Workshop bridges the gap between education and real-world experience in a volunteer-led, collaborative environment. Participants leave with personalized feedback on their work from leading industry professionals, a deep understanding of ethical photography, and a lifelong network of peers and mentors. Our alumni have gone on to impact the visual language of news, culture, and art; documenting our world, elevating underrepresented voices, and bringing vital stories to light.

The Eddie Adams Workshop exists to create a more accessible, inclusive, and equitable future for photography.

Goals

1.Expand access to opportunity for emerging photographers: Break down barriers that often prevent talented photographers from accessing the professional opportunities, mentorship, and support necessary to succeed in the field.
2.Cultivate creative vision: Encourage participants to engage deeply, think critically, and use photography as a tool for connection, inquiry, and change.
3.Change the culture of the industry: Advance an inclusive professional culture, where photography reflects the diversity of human experience, and opportunities are accessible to photographers of all backgrounds.
