We have provided personalized Development Plans for all of our leadership staff to expand their knowledge and skillsets.

Throughout the year, LHS partners with as many as 50 other nonprofit organizations, from rescue groups and humane societies to social service organizations that support people in crisis. 1) We partner with dozens of rescue groups and animal shelters in Colorado and other states as transfer partners to ensure companion animals have the best option for a second chance. 2) Through our Well Pet Clinic, we work with 37 rescue agencies to provide discounted spay-neuter surgeries and other services to prepare pets for adoption. 3) We work with five homeless outreach organizations, the local domestic violence shelter, and a senior center to provide temporary boarding, supplies, vaccines, and spay/neuter surgeries for pets belonging to people in crisis so pets can remain with their families. 4) We work with a local feral cat group to provide Trap-Neuter-Return for cats in our community. 5) We contract with seven jurisdictions to provide animal services to those communities.

There has been nearly complete turnover in the leadership of our organization over the last 18 months. We navigated these changes by adjusting our leadership structure and promoting well-qualified candidates into leadership roles.
