Strings Music Festival seeks to provide opportunities for everyone in the Yampa Valley to attend a performance and participate in the performing arts regardless of age, socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, abilities, and home communities. We partner with more than 30 nonprofit organizations, businesses, schools, libraries, community centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, and senior living to deliver our free and subsidized programs. Strings staff are active participants in performing arts and professional networks across the U.S. Our staff assist in the planning and development of conferences and also present. We employ a Marketing Director who oversees public relations and advertising. Strings is committed to presenting diverse artists and composers - both race and gender, renowned and up and coming - as well as genres of music. Strings offers a professional concert for youth and adults with sensory processing disorders and other special needs. Over 60% of our programs are offered free.

Strings has pioneered new and innovative virtual programs, safe in-person concerts, and partnerships during the pandemic that have been praised by public health officials and become models for other area arts organizations, nonprofits and businesses, and inspired our Colorado and northwestern U.S. regional arts partners.
Strings Music Festival was forced to cancel our signature Summer Festival in 2020 due to COVID-19. However, Strings demonstrated our commitment to our mission and community by offering a series of free virtual classical and contemporary music performances and original podcasts featuring Strings classical musicians, safe in-person drive-in concerts for families and adults, safe in-person free concerts, and augmented reality concerts featuring renowned artists.
This past summer, we presented safe and in-person classical and contemporary performances in a variety of settings and ticket prices including smaller capacity classical concerts in the Strings Pavilion, our professional concert hall, contemporary concerts on an outdoor stage, free outreach programs, and 9 free concerts at our area Botanic Park. Despite the constraints of remote learning, our free Strings School Days arts education programs engaged more than 3,000 K-12 students in three counties and amazing artists from around the country through video and remote collaboration technology. Teachers and students shared that these programs made a tremendous difference during a chaotic school year. We returned to full capacity concerts in the Strings Pavilion on August 10.
