Mission

GARNA connects people with nature through inclusive educational programs, community engagement, and effective stewardship initiatives. We serve diverse residents, visitors, youth, and families across the Upper Arkansas River Valley, promoting environmental awareness, responsibility, and sustainable practices. Through strong partnerships and an inclusive culture, we empower volunteers, staff, and community members to enhance public engagement, celebrate our heritage, and care for the natural environment.

Vision

By 2030, GARNA will strengthen its status as the leading environmental hub known for fostering education, stewardship, and community partnerships to protect and sustain the natural environment of Upper Arkansas River Valley.

Goals

1.Streamline GARNA’s educational offerings by reducing the total number of programs and events while increasing average attendance, delivering fewer high-quality experiences with greater community impact
2.Expand youth program capacity and attendance by 65%, fostering the next generation of environmental stewards.
3.Increase volunteer participation on public lands by an average of 5% per year, resulting in a 27% overall increase in community engagement and on-the-ground conservation impact.
