    Adaptability Statement
    30 out of 30 points
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Our organization hit the ground running from the very beginning. We immediately met community partners and began working together and providing them volunteers. When we had to suspend due to covid, we had 2,600 days worth of volunteers planned. Our community made the choice to suspend volunteers for the health of all and the long-term future of our organization. It was heartbreaking. As we all took the pause and moved online, we realized it was the first time we had stopped long enough to get to know each other better, forming stronger relationships and really understanding each other and our collaborative goals. We have taken the time to dream and plan together, gather more community members to work as a team, and even put together a collaborative long term plan, enabling CRD to better support our neighbors. We have also moved our funding from income driven to income and private funding by creating processes to apply for grants and establishing a base of donors to allow us to focus on the real mission at hand, rather than bringing in income. This is more sustainable and realistic in order to fully staff camp and accomplish our shared mission goals.
