Goals

1.In 2025, Animal Humane conducted a Community Needs Assessment. In response to the CNA we expanded our Pet Resource Center's food pantry, vet bill assistance (Safety Net Program), our Pit Stop for Pets (boarding for domestic violence victims and those experiencing housing insecurity), and launched our Paws on the Ground program which serves pets who are owned by unhoused individuals.
2.AHNM has witnessed the skyrocketing cost of vet care within our community which has affected adoption rates around the nation. In response to this, we created our PAWS (Post Adoption Wellness Support) program in Q4 of 2025. Senior dogs and cats, harder to adopt animals, those with lifelong medical needs qualify as PAWS eligible which means we provide 1 year of free veterinary services for them.
3.In 2026, Animal Humane is replacing old software for our finance, volunteer, and veterinary departments. Previously, these departments were using software that was out of date and not using AI to help streamline the everyday information/reports. The amount of time saved by replacing the old with the new is going to allow these departments to work in a more efficient manner.
