The nonprofit organization presents evidence of strategic thinking and goal setting through sharing their most important strategic goals.
Goal One: Launch projects in Pakistan, where children live in poverty and with environmental challenges. We hope to involve local schools and individuals, enabling the projects to become more permanent.
Goal Two: Make our programs in Kenya and Haiti permanent. Many of the children are orphaned. They have rich cultural traditions that we can draw on to facilitate opportunities for play and cultural preservation
Goal Three: Collaborate with established non-profit organizations so as to create synergy among our respective initiatives. We are preparing to offer sponsorships and to make grants for this purpose.

Investment in Leadership Development
15 out of 15 points
The nonprofit provides evidence of investment in leadership development.
CPI invests in leadership development by engaging skilled, local (non-U.S.) individuals (e.g., videographers), and helping them learn how to work with groups of children. We regard such individuals as collaborators, allowing them to assume increasing levels of responsibility until they can undertake and/or manage initiatives on their own. At all levels, we never require these individuals to impose Western notions of authority; rather, we encourage them to become leaders in context with their own traditions. We also engage U.S. individuals with particular expertise whom we educate in our organizational culture so that they can assume leadership functions in the areas of their expertise.

Adaptability Practices
30 out of 30 points
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year
We adapted by hiring an advisor who came in with a fresh pair of eyes, and corporate and media experience.
We hired a new web design team who is creating a beautiful, user-friendly website that appeals to the digital user-base regardless of location or device employed.
We streamlined the grant application process and invited local program partners whom we have worked to propose new programs that we can sponsor or underwrite. Our emphasis has transitioned from one-off to recurring to permanent programs.
We hired an Outreach Coordinator to communicate with previous and new team players globally, and apprise them of our latest initiatives.
We have compiled a body of news articles relevant to our mission and vision, including the impact that Covid-19 has had on children in emerging markets, and are preparing blogs (in part, based on these articles) to be published weekly once our new website goes live.
We have identified new board members and advisors who are experts in child psychology, neuroscience, and the effects of play deprivation.
