    Mission

    The mission of One Fair Wage is to raise wages and improve working conditions in the service sector, and end all subminimum wages in the United States. One Fair Wage organizes restaurant workers and ‘high road’ restaurateurs to fight for more sustainable wages and working conditions in the restaurant industry. We focus on three key areas: Policy Shift – Organizing and developing the leadership of restaurant workers to advocate for higher wages and increased equity statewide. Industry Shift – Organizing responsible restaurant employers to raise wages for their own employees and advocate for their peers to follow suit. Narrative Shift – Conducting research, generating media coverage, and sharing the stories of restaurant workers, while highlighting the history of the restaurant industry’s wage structure as a legacy of slavery.
