Mission

OUR FIRST MISSION AT CFLIV IS TO ENSURE THAT HOMEBOUND VETERANS WITH MOBILITY OR HEALTH LIMITATIONS RECEIVE HEALTHY MEALS & GROCERIES DELIVERED TO THEIR HOME. NEXT, WE ARE PROUD TO BE ALL INCLUSIVE WITH OUR VOLUNTEER STAFF. WE WORK WITH GROUPS FROM ACLD, CDD, UCP, IGHL & OTHER AGENCIES TO PROVIDE MEANINGFUL TASKS FOR THESE INDIVIDUALS. WE WORK TO REDUCE THE CARBON FOOTPRINT BY PERFORMING FOOD RESCUE. ADDITIONALLY WE FORM RELATIONSHIPS WITH VFW'S, AMERICAN LEGIONS, ETC. AS WELL AS ACTIVE DUTY & RESERVIST GROUPS, PLANNING DINNERS & ACTIVITIES.

Cooking for Long Island Veterans cannot be rated because Charity Navigator has not received the public data required to create a star rating.

To receive a star rating, a charity must be a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity. Private foundations, consolidated subsidiaries, and organizations with revoked or inactive IRS status are not eligible for a rating.

Eligible charities must also meet the following criteria:
