Mission

Our mission is simple: we want to create a more kind and compassionate world for horses. Since founding Red Feather in 2020, we've realized that unrideable horses are among the most at risk for neglect, abuse, and abandonment. While many organizations focus on rehoming rideable horses, we saw an opportunity to make the greatest impact by supporting those who cannot be ridden or serve a utilitarian purpose. Sadly, the odds are stacked against the average horse. From the expectation of utility to the dark realities of horse trading and kill pens, countless horses face unimaginable dangers that we are determined to prevent. Through advocacy, education, and ethical rescue, our goal is to transform the way people perceive and value our beloved equines. Horses don’t need to be ridden to showcase their magic—and we’re here to prove it.

Vision

Red Feather envisions a world where every horse is treated with dignity and compassion, where education and advocacy create lasting change, and where communities come together to protect vulnerable equines through rescue, sanctuary, and systemic reform

Goals

1.Red Feather Equine Sanctuary provides lifelong care for vulnerable, unrideable horses while educating the public on humane treatment and systemic change. By expanding our rescue and outreach programs, we aim to serve more horses and people, increasing access to compassionate care, education, and advocacy across our community.
2.Amplify advocacy efforts that end horse slaughter, promote humane policies, and inspire lasting change, creating a future where all horses are treated with dignity and compassion.
3.In response to growing community demand for hands-on education, Red Feather aspires to develop an Experiential Learning Center. This space will offer humane education, youth programs, and equine-assisted learning, expanding access to life-changing experiences while fostering compassion and advocacy for horses.
