Make-A-Wish International

Mission

Make-A-Wish has granted more than 585,000 wishes worldwide since 1980. More than 27,000 volunteers help us grant thousands of wishes each year around the world. Make-A-Wish granted nearly 35,000 wishes in 2023. Make-A-Wish grants wishes for children with critical illnesses in 50 countries through 40 international Affiliates and 58 Chapters in US.

Goals

1.To understand our scope, we have invested in Prevalence & Incidence research shows that approximately 1.25 million children are diagnosed with a critical illness each year and are eligible for a wish within our Affiliate territories. We keep providing continuous support to our affiliates to increase the quality and number of wishes granted globally - through financial & operational support.
2.Our new Geographic Expansion program is aimed to help our vision "To grant the wish of every eligible child" - hence duty bound to try and expand our operations into new territories. The focus is on the larger territories in Africa, Asia and South America where there is a stable environment - to ensure there is the biggest impact possible. We follow a detailed due diligence process.
