Little Star Foundation
Mission
To provide long term care and a better quality of life for children with cancer and children in need, their families, communities and caregiver system. Financial Assistance, Daily, Emergency and Long Term Care Programs are provided for free to participants. Educational Programs and Supplies, Meals, Ground Transportation, Housing Assistance, Medical Care and Emergency and Daily Supplies and Therapeutic Wellness Programs improving physical, emotional and cognitive support are also provided for free to qualified applicants. Little Star Foundation also supports hospitals, schools, trauma and care centers, families and caregivers nationwide.
Vision
Little Star Foundation helps ease the financial and emotional suffering of families with children with cancer. Families with children with cancer often have financial burdens from missed work, travel costs to hospitals, credit card debt from trying to cover daily life expenses of navigating life caring for a child with cancer. Daily and emergency assistance, wellness and therapeutic support and long term care eases the suffering, improves the quality of life and even in some situations saves the lives of children.
Goals
- 1.Children with cancer, their families and caregivers struggle with extreme financial hardships and trauma. Multiple relapses, lengthy hospital stays, grueling chemo protocols can be the norm for families. Little Star Foundation provides financial assistance, daily, emergency and long term care programs to reduce stress, trauma & exhaustion and allow for fuller lives regardless of diagnosis.
- 2.When a child is diagnosed with cancer it affects the entire family. Parents often lose their job. Bills pile up. Education is placed on the back burner. Late bills, even eviction notices increase depression and stress. Little Star Fdtn's free educational programs are inspiring, lift spirts, help deal w/ stress and fill days with life enhancing transformative educational opportunities.
- 3.Children with cancer, their families, hospitals, trauma and care centers and caregiver system are often lacking financial resources and long term care options for free supplies and programs. Little Star Foundation provides free Outreach Programs, including Play and Wellness Events, Educational Scholarships, Employment and Ambassadorship Support and Specialized Therapy Programs for Participants.
