The nonprofit organization presents evidence of strategic thinking through articulating the organization's mission.
With compassion and empathy, our mission is to rescue horses from the tragic fate of slaughter. At Pride and Joy Rescue, we provide refuge, rehabilitation, and a second chance for horses and other farm animals in need. While we are primarily an equine rescue, we also care for and adopt out goats, dogs, and cats.
We are dedicated to saving animals from neglect, abuse, and slaughter—offering compassionate care and expert rehabilitation to restore their health and spirit. Through education, community outreach, and hands-on involvement, we inspire others to value, protect, and advocate for all animals.
Pride and Joy is based on a veteran-owned, family-run ranch in Fargo, North Dakota, which stands as a beacon of hope—where every life is cherished, and every animal finds safety, healing, and love.
It is our solemn duty to provide refuge, be it permanent sanctuary or adoption into a loving home. Each horse is so much more than "just an animal" - they have unique personalities, feel fear and pain, and desire safety. We strive to be the voice for those who cannot speak, and the guardians for those who cannot defend themselves.
Together, with open hearts, we can give hope and renewal to as many of these majestic animals as possible. They have endured such sadness, but with our support, their days ahead can still be filled with joy.
