Foot Soldiers Park is on a mission to preserve the Civil Rights history of Selma, create opportunities for the Black community to heal, learn and build wealth, and to embolden youth to claim and use their power for change.

2.The development of the park and education center is central to achieving our vision for the future of Selma. The center will be a dedicated recreational greenspace, a place for historic education and youth development and key service provider for the community, using a holistic care systems approach.
3.As a community-driven organization, we work hand-in-hand with the community to transform Selma as a rich, cultural hub and trailblazer for social change. Our focus is on historic preservation, civic and youth engagement, economic revitalization, and the self-sufficiency of the community.
