National Outdoor Learning Alliance

Mission

The mission of the National Outdoor Learning Alliance is to increase the prevalence of outdoor learning around the nation in both traditional and non-traditional school environments through individualized program development, teacher training, curriculum, accreditation, and ongoing support.

Vision

Enhanced academic achievement and well-being of youth by way of nature-based education, which promotes connection to our individual selves, our human community and the natural community.

Goals

1.Nature-based education is supported by a wealth of studies demonstrating that its benefits are fundamental to a healthy childhood and fulfilled future, yet underserved and minority youth are often unable to access it. By expanding access to existing programs and services, the organization is actively dismantling the barriers present for youth in these marginalized groups.
