Strengthening the Black Village (SBV) is weaving together villages of care for the nourishment of the souls, bodies, and minds of our children. We promote family preservation, reunification, and thriving through offering Effective Black Parenting training, small groups, and service referrals, especially for Black and Brown families who are disproportionately impacted by involvement with child welfare systems. Our approach connects faith communities, social service agencies, community organizations, families, and neighbors in a holistic network of love, empowerment, and support for families and extended villages of care.

Strengthening the Black Village cannot be rated because Charity Navigator has not received the public data required to create a star rating.
To receive a star rating, a charity must be a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity. Private foundations, consolidated subsidiaries, and organizations with revoked or inactive IRS status are not eligible for a rating.
Eligible charities must also meet the following criteria:
A nonprofit may be listed but not rated if it does not yet meet Form 990 filing requirements, is newly registered, files only Form 990-EZ or 990-N, or is otherwise ineligible for a star rating.
